Single Origin Coffee means coffee beans from the same area, made with careful processing and the correct degree of roasting. Single Origin Coffee usually has superior taste with its own terroir and signature flavour.
Pour Over Coffee was invented by a housewife, Bentz Melitta in Germany and has recently become popular in Japan. This brewing method is simple but it is a good way to present single origin coffee’s terroir flavour.
How to taste a cup of good single origin pour-over coffee?
- Grind the fresh beans and smell the fragrance of the dry ground
- Pour hot water into the ground and smell the aroma
- Have a sip of your coffee and feel the layers of flavour in your mouth
- Gently slide your tongue back and forth to feel the texture
- Slightly close your mouth and breath with your nose to feel the aftertaste
